When I was 7, my parents surprised my sister and I with a trip that I am positive was life-changing. My dad was working on the damage analysis team at the time for a large insurance company. This took him to California to assess the damage of the Northridge Earthquake of 1994. He left mid-April and was gone for about 8 weeks. I remember this very well because that meant that he would be gone over my birthday, which really upset me. Little did I know that 4 weeks later, my mom would be flying out there for a long weekend. We went with her to say goodbye at the airport, and when we got there we found our suitcases packed, and my mom gave us tickets to go on our first plane ride ever!! I remember nothing from the flight, aside from I was allowed to have gum to help my ears from popping. I had no idea what we were going to do on this trip or where we would go.
Fast forward a couple days and my parents told us we were going to Disneyland! While I don't remember a whole lot from the day we spent there, it was the beginning of something far bigger than I ever had imagined! Between then and now, I have completely fallen in love with all things Disney! While I have only visited Disneyland that one time, I have traveled to Walt Disney World in Orlando at least 10 separate times. Each time was a completely different and memorable experience. I went there on a family vacation with my aunt, uncle, and cousins for their first time to the park. I went and brought a friend the week before Christmas and we bonded and laughed harder than I had ever laughed before. We vacationed there in the summers as a family, and had more great times than I can recall. My husband and I went down there to plan our wedding. We got married there and had our first anniversary there. We went back a couple years later with my sister and her son for his first time. This June, we will be taking our son (who will have just turned 9 months, days prior to our arrival) to get his first pair of ears. You could say I'm pretty excited about that one... and possibly a bit crazy.
We booked our huge vacation in 2015 with a Disney Vacation Planner since we were coordinating dining and fast passes for three different families/rooms! It was one of the smoothest trips we have ever taken! I didn't know people like that existed! When I found out, I knew that I needed to do that!
This January, I reached out to that same person, asked her how to go about doing it and started my absolutely dream job! I literally get to help make people's dreams come true!! While I'm still in the very early stages of joining this team, I am so excited for where this will take me! Join me on this journey!! If you are looking to take a Disney trip (Disneyland, Disney World, Disney Cruise or Adventures by Disney), don't hesitate!! It really is a possibility for every family!!
